Dreamthorn fuses deckbuilder creativity with top-down tactical combat and ARPG loot. Players team up for bite-sized, roguelike campaigns where every card is earned strictly through gameplay - no pay-for-power! - unlocking wildly unique characters ranging from dual-wielding mutant wizards to charismatic cannibal princesses.

We are looking for talent to build an innovative RPG set in a world of beauty and horror.

About the Role

As we are expanding our team, we need someone in charge of production. While the Technical Game Director takes care of engineering, you will coordinate the rest of the studio - art, design, audio and more.

You will be one of three studio leads, as we add this position and a new Technical Game Director to work alongside our existing Game Director.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Drive production: Turn high-level vision and design into concrete plans. Manage, follow up and own the outcome.
  • Build the studio: Take charge of hiring, scouting and onboarding talent as we grow our team.
  • Studio operations: Own schedules, milestones and cross-discipline coordination. Keep the studio aligned and moving.
  • Make it ship: Be the person who turns "we should" into "it's done."

This is a position that may ask you to wear multiple hats. Examples include managing our socials and our community, arranging team activities and generally being the person that ensures stuff happens.

Who you are:

  • A natural leader that wants to carry the weight and responsibility of keeping an indie studio moving forward.
  • Day-to-day management, planning and relentless follow-up must be in your DNA.
  • The ability to structure workflows for creatives without drowning them in process.

Compensation

As an indie studio we don't compete with AAA compensation. We have the budget to deliver the game and we'll pay you what we can. But our biggest advantage is a great project worth being passionate about. Making a great game means letting people work on tasks they are excited about if at all possible and welcoming feedback on all levels - from minor design details to high level lore and game-design. We're a studio where your effort matters.

We offer long-term, full-time (or part-time) contracts that also include a predictable profit-sharing model on top of your fixed compensation.

Location

The studio is based in Norway, though all positions are remote. While the timezone is centered around Europe, the team currently spans from the Americas all the way to East Asia.

How to Apply

You may notice our lists of "requirements" are somewhat minimal. This does not mean we hire anyone. If anything, we are quite picky. Rather it is a hint that the email below goes directly to the studio lead. That is - we will let you write and explain who you are and show us that you are highly capable and motivated.

To apply, send us your portfolio, resume or words to demonstrate who you are and what you can do.
