Cold Symmetry, creators of the acclaimed indie title Mortal Shell, is expanding. You will collaborate with our art and design teams to create detailed and realistic environments that enhance the player's experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for game development.

 

You’ll Own

  • Assist in the creation of high-quality 3D environments using Unreal Engine.
  • Model, texture, and integrate assets into the game engine.
  • Work closely with the art director and lead environment artist to ensure visual consistency.
  • Participate in the development of level layouts, including terrain, buildings, props, and foliage.
  • Implement lighting and atmospheric effects to enhance realism and immersion.
  • Optimize assets and environments for performance without compromising visual quality.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure environments support gameplay and narrative objectives.
  • Stay current with industry trends and techniques in environment art and Unreal Engine.

 

Your XP and Skills

  • Passion for video games, especially Mortal Shell 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Art, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
  • Strong texturing skills using tools like Substance Painter, Substance Designer, or Photoshop.
  • Basic knowledge of Unreal Engine and its environment creation tools.
  • Understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) techniques.
  • Ability to create realistic, high-quality 3D assets from concept to final implementation.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating immersive game environments.
  • A portfolio showcasing relevant environment art work.
  • Self motivated and able work independently as part of a fully distributed and, at times, a-sync team to meet deadlines and milestone requirements
