  • We'll build with you: long term, you can grow into our Art Director or Principal 3D Artist for our games.


about you, must haves

  • You have experience in early-stage prototyping environments, building concepts and in-engine assets.
  • You are a 3D generalist who can help us realize our style in-game and take initiative on many aspects of the game’s art.
  • You have 3+ years of experience working as a senior or lead artist in games.
  • You can create textured, skinned and rigged environment and character models in low-mid poly geometry.
  • You have played a cooperative game or two in the last few months.


nice to haves

  • You have extensive experience working with Unreal Engine and/or in developing first-person games.
  • You have a breadth of proven skills in other domains to tap into such as game visual effects, animation, etc.
  • You have expertise or aptitude for giving art feedback to artists and contractors.

Equal work, equal pay. We have a transparent salary policy: at all times you know exactly what everybody else at the company is being paid. We strive to pay at the 75th percentile of the markets we hire in. Everybody in the same role at the same level at the same location gets paid the same.

Equity packages are adjusted based on how early you joined the company to compensate for volatility. There’s no negotiation, nor special backroom deals to get ahead. Compensation is standardized and made public to maximize fairness. We make yearly adjustments to everybody’s compensation to keep up with the market and inflation.

  • $80,000 - $140,000 USD depending on location and experience
  • 0.1-0.6% of company equity as options vesting over 4 years

interview process

  1. Application - you are here!
  2. Culture interview - Our goal is to explore your motivations to join our team, learn why you’d be a great fit, and answer questions about us (30min)
  3. Discipline-specific interview - You'll meet the hiring team who will evaluate skills needed to be successful in your role (60min)
  4. Take-home project - we assign you a test project that should take a few hours to finish. The work is similar to what you’d be doing day-to-day at the company. We then chat with you about your deliverable (2-8h)
  5. Work trial - we really like you, and we want to make sure this is a fit for you and the team. Work with us remotely on our product. We will compensate you appropriately for your time, or donate the same amount to charity if you’re unable to receive compensation. The work trial lasts anywhere between 5 days and 6 weeks, either full-time or part time. We’re happy to figure out an arrangement that works best for your schedule.

Double Dusk

Double Dusk is a remote games studio focused on the power of teamwork in Unreal Engine 5. We’re focusing on a double down game model where we start with smaller games on PC and then expand into multi-platform live service titles alongside our players. Our goal is to build a big, sustainable business that becomes a household name we’re proud of. It’s going to be a lot of work, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hey there! We’re Alexander and Alex, two veteran Y Combinator startup founders, game developers, and life-long gamers. After years working on AAA projects like VALORANT and educational products for K-12 students like Freckle, we decided to create the dream studio where we’d love to spend the rest of our careers.

We founded Double Dusk to bring friends closer together through amazing gaming experiences that support creative teamwork and triumphing against all odds. We hope to echo that in our work environment: we are intending to keep our team small, close-knit and ambitious.
