Elsewhere is hiring a Game UI/UX Designer to help bring eye-popping, functional interfaces to projects in our game universe. We’re a venture-backed indie studio working on a surreal roguelike set inside your own dreaming mind. We aim for the project to combine the unique art and soul of a stellar indie title with the strategic depth and replayability of roguelikes, ultimately becoming a forever-game that reaches millions of players.
This role will completely own the UI and UX for a particular project, from smooth animations that make actions feel responsive to clear visual hierarchies that guide players through complex decisions. You’ll work closely with our game design team to ensure that the user experience is a core pillar of the player experience, crafting intuitive and beautiful interfaces that elevate every moment of gameplay.
This position is for a 6 week contract. Work will be about 10-20 hrs/week depending on business needs. If things go well, more work may be available in the future.
Location
Our team works in-person out of a beautiful converted industrial space in the Mission District here in San Francisco, CA. Being located in the area is a big plus, but not strictly necessary.
Qualifications

We are a new kind of video game studio based in San Francisco emboldened by the desire to rethink the industry. We are idealistic and ambitious. We believe that Artificial Intelligence is a normal technology. We build games that use generative AI because we want to push the future in a humanistic, positive direction. We reject the idea that tech companies must push a dystopian vision to be profitable. The future of games comes from the tight collaboration between technologists and creatives.
Previously, we were working on a roguelike. Now we are working on something new.
