Games With DNA is looking for a Unity programmer with NaniNovel experience to work on their first release, Love & Fool’s Gold, their singleplayer upcoming Western-themed romantic horror visual novel. This role is only available within the UK, and is approximately five months fixed term contract-based, full time, paid, and fully remote. Applicants not based within the UK will not be considered.

At present, the game has a public demo available and an existing code base to build off of. The project is developed in Unity using the NaniNovel plug-in, and candidates with existing NaniNovel experience will have preference!

The role:

• Follow designer briefs to implement remaining branching narrative scripts, as well as gameplay mechanics (such as incrementing points and tracking stats/variables and other UI related elements)
• Follow designer briefs to implement minor minigames and QOL functionality
• Work with team members to organize and implement visual and audio assets
• Review weekly tasks and targets with team and producer
• Manage version control
• Keep programming documentation up to date as necessary

Requirements: 

• Experience with branching narrative games
• Experience with Unity
• Familiarity with Steam (playtest branches, setup, pushing builds, etc)
• At least one shipped title as lead programmer
• Able to step into an existing project code base and quickly ramp up
• Comfortable working independently
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• UK-based
