Good Story Guild is looking for a passionate Developer to join our small development team in working on multiple independent projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Build Great Games Together - Work with the team to make a wide variety of features for games using Unreal Engine 5.
• Build Quick, Build Strong – You’re able to build fast to validate ideas, without falling into the trap of redoing things later.
• Seek Out the Hard Stuff - You tackle the difficult technical problems that might affect your team.
• Advocate for Implementation - Considered a subject-matter expert in UE5, you’ll be able to effectively collaborate with team members on best-practice implementation.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent C/C++ skills
• The ability to architect a variety of gameplay mechanics and systems.
• Experience developing and/or maintaining plugins in UE5.
• Understanding of Unreal Engine’s UI tools (e.g., UMG and Slate).
• Experience with UE5’s networking framework and an understanding of low-level networking fundamentals.

Great to Have

Experience in…

• RPG or Action Games
• Gameplay Ability System (GAS)
• Unreal Online Subsystem
• Backend platforms (e.g., PlayFab, GameLift, Photon, etc)

Capacity

The role will initially be part-time, with the potential to scale up to full-time after the initial onboarding period.
