We’re looking for a generalist game artist to take ownership of the visual side of our next 3D multiplayer game. As the sole artist in a small team of four, you’ll help define and execute the game’s visual style from early development through to release.
This role is ideal for an artist who enjoys creative ownership, likes working across the full art pipeline, and wants to see their work directly shape the final game.
You’ll be working on a 3D multiplayer game backed by a UK-based publisher and the UK Games Fund.
Responsibilities
- Acting as the sole artist on the project, owning all visual output
- Helping define and execute the unique visual style for the game
- Designing, modelling, texturing, rigging, and animating 3D characters, environments, and props
- Creating visual effects (VFX) that support gameplay clarity and polish
- Building, lighting, and optimising environments in Unity
- Creating and maintaining shaders to support the game’s art direction and performance goals
- Ensuring all art is performant, readable, and cohesive within a multiplayer context
- Working closely with the rest of the team while executing your own creative vision
- Delivering high-quality work with minimal oversight
Requirements
- Based in the UK
- Strong experience as a generalist artist on 3D games
- Comfortable working across the full 3D art pipeline (modelling, texturing, rigging, animation)
- Strong Unity experience, including lighting, materials, shaders, and optimisation
- A proactive problem-solver who enjoys ownership and responsibility
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
- Able to demonstrate clear impact on previous projects
Desirables
- Experience being the sole or primary artist on a project
- Shader experience (Shader Graph and/or HLSL)
- VFX experience (Unity VFX Graph or similar)
- Experience working on PC and/or console projects
- A strong portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of art creation
We’re here to make games we’re proud of, by learning fast, solving problems, and putting the player first.
