Us in a nutshell

Mightier is a video games platform and coaching program that helps children with emotional regulation challenges, such as ADHD and Anxiety. We are pioneering a new area of gameplay. Founded out of Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital, the science has been shown as effective as medication in multiple clinical trials. Mightier has been used by thousands of kids across the globe.

Mightier is developed by a small and devoted team in Boston, Massachusetts. As a team, we care deeply about our players and their families. We are looking for talented, passionate, and creative people to help move Mightier forward.

 

Why is this role important?

Mightier grows every day, and we are looking for someone to help solve our advanced technical hurdles. As part of the tech team, your duties would include everything from managing a Unity project with 20+ games to platform wide, meta-game integration. Help us build something that works and runs great.

 

Job description

  • Product development: be part of a small team, where you will have a big impact on all aspects of product development.
  • Build foundational features: you'll need to balance product/design initiatives with maintaining the integrity and quality of the game experience. A few projects on the horizon:
    • Help prototype and implement core gameplay
    • Deep game mechanic integrations with Mightier heart rate monitor
    • Localization for several of our existing games
    • Help maintain an application with over 25 games in it

 

Relevant experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Previous engineering experience at game development studio
  • At least one shipped title
  • Familiarity with mobile application development or Unity development
  • Ability to set up systems that ensure a high-quality end product with a sense of long-term / maintainable code
  • Competency, and at least one programming language, and sound knowledge of software engineering principles, i.e. object-oriented design, algorithmic complexity, and software design patterns.
  • Familiar with development lifecycle out to Google and Apple app stores
  • Familiar with agile development methodologies and interative design
  • Familiar with GIT or similar version control software
  • Willingness to participate in a culture of feedback and collaboration
  • Direct collaboration with QA teams

Mightier is a family-based program developed at Boston Children’s Hospital that empowers kids to build emotional strength and supports the caregivers who love them. With Mightier’s innovative game system, kids can practice keeping their “Cool” while playing fun, award-winning games. Three clinical trials at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard, and Mass General have shown Mightier works as well as medications. The program has served over 25,000 families with over 10 million games played.
