Optillusion Games is looking for a freelance Social Media Video Creator & Editor who lives on TikTok/YouTube/Instagram, loves cozy, exploration, simulation, dating simulator/otome games (especially indie), and knows how to turn “this looks cool” into content people actually want to watch. 

We are looking for someone to help increase engagement and growth in our community on multiple social media platforms for a new otome mobile game, Game Title yet to be revealed.

Game Genres of Focus: Cozy, Casual, Dating Sim, Narrative-Driven, Story, Drama, Singleplayer, Artistic, Otome, Exploration, and Mobile.

Role Details

• Role Type: Freelance, Contract. Hours are flexible based on schedules. 
• Duration: Estimated 5-6 months, but open to longer depending on results!
• Location: Remote; Bonus if located in the United States/Canada or in similar time zones.

Responsibilities

• Record in-game footage and/or navigate our files for footage to edit.
• ⭐ Create short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Twitter/X. 
• Create long-form/horizontal content for Twitter/X and YouTube videos; devlogs, recaps, collabs, announcements, etc.
• Meet with the Marketing Team weekly on social media brainstorming, scheduling, and gameplan for video creation.
• Stay updated on in-game developments, the game and studio communities, and game-relevant events/trends/new video editing styles.

Qualifications

• Have been making content for a while (~5 years social media experience — doesn’t have to be formal).
• Already edit your own videos (CapCut, Premiere, After Effects, etc.) and understand what makes content hit.
• Are deep into gaming culture (bonus if you love indie games)
• Get how TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts actually work.
• Can take feedback, iterate fast, and aren’t afraid to experiment.
• Have made videos before that performed well (big or small — we care about instincts).

Good to Haves

• ⭐ You’ve worked on or around games before (internships, projects, game jams, content pages, etc.).
• You understand meme culture and how to adapt it to a brand.
• You’ve tried testing different hooks/formats to improve performance.
• You hang out on Discord/Reddit and know what players are talking about.
