Greetings from Quest Fox Studio! 👋

First of all, we want to thank you for reading our job post.

We're a small indie game studio experimenting with all sorts of tech to create that 'Gasp!!' reaction from players and viewers alike. We revolve around tools and novel game concepts.

We've worked on several indie games (co-dev) and projects, more of which you can read below at the About Us section.

We're once again happy to have the opportunity to make new connections in the indie space, courtesy to WorkWithIndies✨

 

Contract Duration and Beyond 📋 

The current role is a contract position for a duration of 2 to 3 months.

After the end of this period, we would be interested to see if we can extend to a longer period of time, which can possibly finalize as a permanent in-house position. 

Simply said, we always take the time to understand the person who works with us and gradually move things closer as we get to know each other better and see if we are a good match as a team first. 

Ideally we'd find someone who's willing to go with us for the long run, growing together along the way.

 

The Task ☑

Currently, we're developing a stylized modular character generator in Unity.

This tool has a lot of moving parts, such as blend shapes for body weight, height, face customisation, different types of clothing and accesories and a couple of more novel features that are still in design phase. 

It's about 70% done, but there's still some polishing left to be done and some features are still missing.

We've started to do our own social media content so if you're curious, you can get a glimpse on some early work in progress here 🔴

We really enjoy making the voice acting ourselves 📣, and we are currently lucky enough to even create our own music for our videos! 🎺🎶

Next up, we'd want to move on to a Modular Creature Generator 🦎, building upon the foundations we have established in our first generator.

 

The Ideal Candidate Profile 😎

Please Note: A big advantage is awarded to those who offer us a portofolio to review.

It can be your own games, prototypes, tools, projects and so on. 

If you've worked as co-dev or within a team, please be sure to clearly help us understand what were your contributions to the project.

Additionally: some people just send us their github code, but it's always nice to have a quick demo video demonstrating a runtime of the application (wherever applicable).

 

👉 Main Requirements:

  • Unity developer with previous work experience of 3 to 5 years or more
  • You have good understanding of code architecture and can explain your decisions
  • Has worked on games involving 3D assets before

 

👌 Nice to have:

  • Can write code with haste (speed is important to us at this stage)
  • Good with creating UI (prototype it fast, not to design or to create art for it)
  • Has an affinity for procedural generation in general / modular character creation
  • Has a *love* relationship with Math (*love-hate* works too!) 
  • Is proficient with Unreal as well 

 

🙌 Soft Skill Requairments:

  • Good-enough English (spoken and written; accent is irrelevant)
  • You are open to do video calls with us
  • You’re organized and bring structure to complex technical work (❗)

Quest Fox

We are a relatively new studio with past work within the indie gaming scene (in co-dev capacity) some of which you can read below.

The type of work we do at Quest Fox Studio is two-fold: external (work with other indie studios, various projects, etc.) or internal when we work on our own games & projects.

We are now moving our attention towards our own projects and less on external ones. This effectively translates into having no shortage of task-variety :)

Currently we are 6 permanent in-house team members along-side with several other friends (from other indie studio such as Edgeflow Studios - Breachway), as well as other collaborators.  We hang out on our Discord Sever where we exchange tasks, jokes and other mundane information we feel like sharing :)
