We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Lead VR Developer to spearhead the technical development of our innovative game, Hark. The ideal candidate will enjoy being part of our creative collaborative team to create a truly groundbreaking restorative game and equally will work autonomously.  You will possess a blend of technical expertise in VR and Unity, a strong foundation in game development principles, and a passion for details and working at a high standard. 

As our Lead VR Developer, you'll strongly shape the growth of a purpose-driven, forward-thinking startup from its infancy, impacting players' lives positively and redefining digital entertainment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and optimisation of the existing game prototype on Unity, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead VR Designer to create a seamless and engaging user experience.
  • Provide technical leadership in VR development, ensuring adherence to best practices while also having the autonomy to shape development processes.
  • Support the design and execution of user testing in December, including data analysis and game updates based on feedback.
  • Engage in regular communication with the Project Manager to ensure smooth project progression and alignment with operational and administrative objectives.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach in identifying challenges and proposing solutions, contributing to the iterative development and review process.
  • Takes initiative to constantly integrate novel AI-based tools into workflow 
  • Stays up to date and swiftly integrates new development processes

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Unity game development, particularly for VR platforms, with a preference for candidates with 5+ years of experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C#, with a knack for writing clean, efficient, and modular code.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously, adapting to evolving project needs.
  • The ideal candidate will have an Interest or experience in the therapeutic gaming sector.

 

Bonus Abilities:

  • Proficiency in 3D character modelling 
  • Proficiency in 3D character animation

 

Additional Details:

  • Location: London, UK (Ideally in-person, Remote working within the UK is viable)
  • Contract Term: October 1 - January 1 (with potential for long-term engagement)
