Skymap Games is hiring an Unreal Mobile Platform Engineer with deep expertise in bringing Unreal Engine projects to mobile platforms. This role is ideal for developers who thrive on technical problem-solving, optimization, and platform-specific implementation. You will own the mobile porting pipeline, ensuring the game runs smoothly across a wide range of devices and meets platform technical requirements. From performance profiling to build certification, you’ll be at the forefront of making our projects shine on mobile.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on a cross platform game (Mobile/Console/PC) with a focus on specific mobile (iOS/Android) platform needs
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and optimize CPU, GPU, memory, and rendering for mobile devices
  • Implement platform-specific features and ensure compliance with Apple and Google requirements
  • Own the technical certification and submission process for mobile builds
  • Collaborate with design and art teams to adapt high-quality assets and materials for mobile performance constraints
  • Maintain and improve mobile build pipelines, automation, and CI/CD integrations
  • Work closely with QA to identify, reproduce, and resolve device-specific issues
  • Stay up to date with mobile hardware trends, OS updates, and Unreal Engine platform changes
  • Provide mentorship and support to other engineers working on mobile-related features

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional game industry programming experience, with a strong emphasis on Unreal Engine development, particularly in mobile deployment
  • Proficiency in C++ and familiarity with Unreal’s rendering, packaging, and performance profiling tools
  • Deep understanding of mobile GPU/CPU architecture, graphics pipelines, and performance trade-offs
  • Experience with iOS (Xcode, Metal, provisioning) and Android (Gradle, Vulkan/ES, device debugging) development workflows
  • Knowledge of mobile platform technical requirements (e.g., store compliance, memory limits, performance budgets)
  • Ability to collaborate cross-discipline and communicate technical constraints to non-technical team members

Nice to Have

  • Prior shipped titles on mobile platforms using Unreal Engine
  • Familiarity with automation tools for continuous integration and deployment on mobile
  • Experience with cross-platform multiplayer systems and mobile networking considerations
  • Background in graphics programming or shader optimization for mobile
