About the Game

We’re looking for a social media lead who understands action adventure games to help us bring our upcoming indie title Drive! Cal Gal Drive! to life online.

Set in a chaotic, sun-soaked, futuristic Los Angeles, the game throws players onto a wall-riding, grapple-hooking Psychocycle™ as they dodge police drones, chase five-star ratings, and survive the absurdity of a gig economy gone completely off the rails.

The story mixes together high-speed traversal, over-the-top action, and a tone that blends humor, chaos, and heart— think teenage cyber-punk Thelma and Louise meets Crazy Taxi.

We’re heading toward major milestones—including our trailer launch, Steam page release, and Gamescom—and we’re looking for someone who can help us build an audience and inspire wishlisting.

The Role

You’ll own and run social media for the game, helping define how it shows up online from an early stage.

This is a hands-on, hybrid role—you’ll be coming up with ideas, creating content, posting, and engaging directly with the audience.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and manage social channels (TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube Shorts)
  • Concept, create, and execute content end-to-end (idea → edit → post → engage)
  • Work with our team to turn early assets, ideas, and worldbuilding into compelling content
  • Help define and evolve the game’s voice and tone on social
  • Develop content ideas and strategy that build momentum over time
  • Plan and execute around key beats (trailer launch, Steam page, Gamescom)
  • Engage with the community and help build early audience traction
  • Track what’s working and iterate on content

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience owning and running social media for a video game (indie or otherwise)
  • Proven ability to concept and create content yourself (not just manage or schedule)
  • Strong instincts for what performs in game marketing, especially short-form content
  • Experience growing an account, community, or audience through creative content
  • Ability to turn early-stage material (ideas, tone, partial assets) into engaging posts
  • Deep familiarity with gaming culture and what makes players care

Nice to have:

  • Experience working on a shipped game
  • Experience building hype leading up to a trailer or major reveal
  • Experience collaborating closely with creative teams

What Makes This Project Different

  • You’ll help define the voice of a game early—before launch
  • A bold, high-energy concept: cyberpunk chaos meets sunny California, with humor and a female protagonist
  • A project built to work on social—fast, weird, and highly visual
  • An experienced, international creative team with a strong storytelling background
  • Strong potential for this role to continue beyond the initial project
  • Here is a link to a short film set in the world of our game:

Details

  • Remote
  • ~5–15 hours/week depending on phase
  • Heavier involvement at the start and around key milestones
  • ~3-month engagement with potential to extend
  • $55–$65/hour depending on experience
