🌸 Role Introduction 🌸

We are building a beautiful, new, ambitious cozy game and would love to find an animator with a track record of building highly-polished, expressive and personality-rich 3D character animations.

If you are passionate about creating stylized, magical and emotive animations like those in our first title, Wylde Flowers, then we would love to work with you!

🌸 What you'll be doing 🌸

• Working with our Animation Director and narrative team to define actions that will match the style of the game and also the personality of the given character.
• Animating a large cast of characters with highly emotive facial expressions and gestures.
• Adapting to different project needs, sometimes building robust animations that work for all characters and sometimes carefully finessing a character-centric animation for a key cinematic beat.
• Filling the world with life by rigging and animating everything from tiny insects to large, four-legged creatures.
• Experienced with tool sets for retargeting animations across several different character body types.

🌸 Our dream 3D animator🌸

• Confident working in medium fidelity, suitable for a mobile game or a high-end PC.
• Able to make mundane actions feel vibrant and full-of-life.
• Excited by stylized, cozy storytelling, creating cinematics capable of making players laugh or cry.
• Comfortable in Unity and Maya and able to adapt to new workflows.
• Believes in kindness and support as a first step to any communication and practices both when giving feedback.

🌸 This is a full time, fixed-contract and permanently-remote-working position 🌸

• This position is 38 hours a week
  • Work around your family and personal commitments.
  • Work any hours of the day and week that make sense for you.
  • We generally communicate over Slack or email, with occasional voice/video chat when convenient.
• You will need to have some reasonable time zone overlap with both Melbourne and the US at the same time. We have a strict policy to not hire in Europe or any time zone where only night work would be possible to achieve that.
• We'll be trusting you to be self-motivated and able to manage your own time and workload; we won't be micromanaging your task list.

🌸 Salary 🌸

• This is a fixed-term 12-month position
• $120,000 AUD ($85,000 USD) per annum
