Tavernlight Games is looking for a Software Developer with C++ and Lua experience to help develop and grow Ravendawn, a new epic MMORPG experience, focused on dynamic world building, community, deep customization and unique character design.

Technical Requirements

  • Fluent in C++
  • Fluent in Lua is a huge plus, but not required as can be learned quite easily.
  • Fluent in English (Native English is not a requirement, but you should have no problem typing in English, and preferably speaking it as well).

Personal Requirements

  • You are eager to learn and improve - Growth is very important to our team. Mistakes happen all the time and are totally fine, as long as you make a serious effort to learn from your mistakes, especially when a lead takes the time to point out a mistake you made or recommend a better way something could be done.
  • Team Oriented - We have a strong and great team environment. This is extremely important to us and something we will work very hard to protect. It’s important anyone we bring in is willing to adapt and remain positive in sometimes stressful situations.
  • Listen well to project managers & leads - We have extremely knowledgable leads on our team with a massive amount of experience. While you may disagree at times (and please feel free to voice that to me) in the end of the day you do need to do what they request.
  • Punctual and respectful - Timeliness is important to our team. Being frequently late for meetings is a huge sign of disrespect to the other team members. While being late here and there can happen, it should not be a common habit.
About
Tavernlight Games

A quickly growing studio with a 9-year foundation, we are wildly passionate about the games we make. Tavernlight was founded in 2015 and has grown to a studio with over 60 full-time staff. While we have grown significantly over the years, we have not lost our close and inclusive company culture.

The name Tavernlight represents the telling of a story amongst friends over candlelight. Our name represents how we develop our games. Building games with Community at its core. Bringing back the true values of the MMORPG Genre.

Why work with us?

The most important investment in our Studio are our employees. To create the best possible game worlds, it’s critical to provide a stable and secure work space. An encouraging and passionate culture that allows creativity to excel. We avoid common industry practices that lead to endless crunch time and layoffs and instead build upon our employee’s for their long term success.

We are a studio of gamers and MMORPG fans first, developers second. We create the games that we believe gamers need.

In Ravendawn, the world is yours to conquer! The vastness of Ravendawn’s landscape means you can build virtually anywhere — from a simple log cabin in the middle of a dense forest, to a majestic stone mansion along the ocean’s sandy coast. All you have to do is claim a plot of land and gather enough resources to establish your territory and build your own home. Ravendawn is your canvas, and with real-world house and farm-building, you can paint it as you please!
