We are looking for a talented 3D Art Director to craft the look and build out the environments of our innovative viral puzzler Stretchmancer.
The Game
Stretchmancer is a first person puzzler where you \*stretch\* the world.
Fans of Portal and Superliminal will love the brain-bending puzzles, as they blast through a fun-filled story inspired by 90s Saturday Morning cartoons. (GIF and Trailer art not final)
Proven fun: Our prototype WON the prestigious Ludum Dare GameJam (1st Overall, 1st for Fun, 1st for Innovation)
Viral sensation: Our gameplay videos have earned over 10 Million views across social media in the last 3 months - here's a playlist of videos.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Art Director who can define the entire game’s look from the ground up, while also getting “hands-on” to build our fun-filled game environments.
Our current build of the game has proven out the fun of our unique “stretch anything” mechanic, and the lasting appeal of the 90s Saturday Morning Cartoon storyline and characters. However, we have not yet found the “look” that makes the game feel as premium and stylish as it could be.
The 3D Art Director would become a key member of our small-and-passionate team. They would be working with concept art produced by our award-winning 2D Animator/Director with the entire role being an exciting collaboration with the Creative Director and 2D Animator/Director.
The 3D Art Director would also direct and collaborate with a part-time 3D Artist to help with many of the game’s assets.
The 3D Art Director will define every aspect of the game’s look-and-feel, creating pipelines, tools and shaders to keep the look consistent and stylish. As the look solidifies, they will work with the Creative Director/Level Designer to turn greybox levels into game-ready environments.
This is a full-time, 18-month fixed-term position with the possibility of ongoing future employment as Staff Art Director at Triangle Wave.
(We are building an inclusive game and we value diversity in the workplace – if you are from an underrepresented background, please apply!)
