We’re a small, fast-moving indie team working on a skill-based narrative rich 3D drag racing game with unique ship customizations and character designs.
The twist? The mechanics are a perfect blend of sim-racing depth with anime-arcade vibes. Precision and timing. Redlining. Clutching. Shifting. Spooling turbos. Overheating. Think high-stakes exhilaration of going fast, the smile it puts on your face, delivered on mobile.
Our focus is on tight gameplay, over the top Sfx feedback, and a short narrative-driven (no pun intended) campaign.
We’re looking for a Unity developer who loves building things that feel good to play, and is excited to dive into a whimsical sci-fi universe with playful storytelling and witty dialogue.
What You’ll Do
- Develop gameplay systems that simulate realistic driving (e.g., torque curves, acceleration, overheating, clutch timing) from an arcade-friendly angle
- Narrative integration — implementing dialogue moments, character interactions, and level-based story progression; working closely with writers to bring lore and personality onto the screen
- Collaborate on UX/UI to make gameplay systems intuitive and engaging
- Optimize performance for a range of iOS & Android devices to ensure reliable, low-lag experiences
- Working closely with a small, passionate team where your ideas actually shape the game
Who You Are
- You’re comfortable working with physics-based gameplay systems and understand fundamentals like thrust, torque, acceleration, and friction
- Comfort with physics-based gameplay (vehicle physics, animation curves, event-driven systems, tuning for feel)
- Experience or enthusiasm for anime/toon-shaded visuals — familiarity with toon shaders, cel outlines, stylized lighting, or shader graphs is a plus
- You have a keen eye for intuitive UX/UI design, with an appreciation for simplicity
- You thrive in small, collaborative teams and take ownership of your work
Bonus Points
- Experience with mobile optimization (e.g., frame pacing, asset compression, input tuning)
- Examples of strong UX/UI design or mock-ups
- An interest in sci-fi, stylized worlds, or racing games
- Familiarity with backend solutions (PlayFab, Firebase, AWS Gamelift, etc.)
- Examples of creative sound design or rhythm mechanics
What We Offer
- Creative input in worldbuilding, mechanics, and narrative on a project with a unique visual identity and storytelling
- Collaborative, creative team environment with direct input into game design
- Long-term potential for profit sharing or equity for core contributors
- Flexible remote work schedule
