Astra Fund is a game fund with a mission to support the creation of better thinking games and bringing them to broad audiences. We work to achieve this through grants, events, genre-based initiatives, and we're moving into publishing. We are part of Carina Initiatives, a philanthropic fund working to send more kids from more communities to the frontiers of science and technology.

We are a small team of builders who love games. We know that games can shape minds and cultures, because they’ve shaped ours. We work hard to amplify creators that take this responsibility seriously.

We've been funding thinking games and offering grants to promising early-career designers, and now we think it's time to set up a publisher focused on those games. A lot of people enjoy games like Baba Is You, ElecHead, or The Witness as one-off experiences without identifying as a fan of a genre, and we believe there's an opportunity here to build a brand that can bring this eager audience what they didn't know they were missing.
