We are on the hunt for a Senior Unity Developer to join our team. The role is initially for a 12-month period, with the possibility of extension.

 

Let’s get the important stuff out of the way:

  • Position: Full-Time (32 hours/week, 4 days/week)
  • Salary: $50-$66/hour (CAD), based on experience
  • Duration: 12-Months, with possibility of extension
  • Location: Remote, Canada (Vancouver/BC preferred, but definitely not required. Possible option for hybrid for Vancouver-based candidates)

 

What you’ll do:

  • Play a key role in developing our music-action game from a polished prototype to a production-ready release.
  • Responsibly test and integrate Generative AI into our game prototypes, focusing on enhancing gameplay and crafting unique, joyful experiences for our end-users. (Our goal is to leverage GenAI to achieve innovative game mechanics that would be challenging to realize otherwise, adhering to ethical guidelines and respect for original creators' rights.)
  • Mentor our talented junior programmers, sharing your expertise in Unity development.
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team to create immersive VR and GenAI experiences.
  • Contribute to project planning, helping define priorities and strategies.
  • Implement and optimize game features, focusing on user experience and engagement.

 

What you bring:

  • Proficiency in Unity and C#.
  • Experience in game development, with a portfolio showcasing your skills.
  • A strong interest in emerging technology, especially in relation to Generative AI and spatial computing.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and debugging skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

 

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous experience with VR development, especially with Unity XR Toolkit.
  • Proficiency with FMOD for audio scripting and implementation.
  • Experience developing for Rogue-Lites, Endless Runners or Music-Based games;
  • Experience developing for 2D Fighters (Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat)
  • Experience with Unreal engine
  • Multiplayer/networking experience
