We’re looking for a creative and technically skilled 3D Artist Generalist to join our passionate and collaborative team. In this role, you’ll bring imaginative worlds to life by modeling, texturing, and animating characters, props, and environments using Blender and Unity.

You’ll work cross-functionally with artists, designers, and developers to deliver polished, stylized assets that align with our playful aesthetic and perform seamlessly in-game. If you enjoy variety, take ownership of your work, and thrive in a flexible, remote-first environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Model, UV unwrap, texture, and optimize 3D assets in Blender (characters, props, and environments) for real-time performance in Unity, targeting efficient polycounts and draw calls.
  • Rig and skin characters or props in Blender using provided rig templates, ensuring clean deformations suitable for real-time animation.
  • Import assets into Unity and set up materials (using URP), lighting, colliders, LODs, and prefabs. Test assets in-game to ensure correct visual fidelity, interactivity, and performance.
  • Create basic animations such as idle loops, prop interactions, and mechanical movements using Blender or Unity’s animation tools. Implement and test them in-engine using Animator Controllers and Timelines.
  • Translate rough visual ideas into sketches or 3D blockouts; iterate based on team feedback, ensuring alignment with the game’s style and tone. Deliver polished, game-ready assets implemented in Unity.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a 3D artist in a game development environment, with a strong portfolio demonstrating stylized art and in-game asset implementation.
  • Proficient in Blender for modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, rigging, and animation.
  • Skilled in Unity, particularly with the Universal Render Pipeline (URP), prefabs, materials, lighting, and importing/optimizing 3D assets.
  • Solid understanding of real-time 3D asset creation workflows, including polycount optimization, texture efficiency, and clean topology for animation and performance.
  • Capable of creating and implementing basic animations (e.g., idle loops, mechanical movement) using Blender or Unity’s Animator Controller and Timeline.
  • Comfortable rigging and skinning characters or props using provided templates or custom rigs, with clean deformations for in-game use.

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with animating UI components (e.g., menus, buttons, HUD elements) using Unity’s animation and layout systems.
  • Comfortable working with Unity’s animation tools to create and refine animation sequences, or with Shader Graph to prototype and adjust visual effects.
  • Ability to write or edit simple scripts to control animations, interactions, or visual effects (e.g., triggering animations via code, adjusting shader parameters).
  • Skilled in identifying visual, animation, or integration issues in the game and creating clear, actionable bug reports for the dev team.
  • Familiarity with editing and refining motion capture animation in Blender or Unity—including tasks like removing noise, fixing foot sliding, adjusting keyframes, or retargeting to game-ready rigs.

What We Offer:

  • Fully remote work allowing you to work from anywhere and balance your personal life.
  • Per-project bonuses to directly reward your contributions, recognising your impact on the game.
  • Monthly game night where we buy you a new game and order takeout—enjoy playing with the team while still getting paid.
  • Yearly team holiday, fully covered, where we get together for a fun, memorable trip as a team.
  • Equipment budget to help you improve your home office setup with the tools, software, or hardware you need to do your best work.
  • Professional development fund to support your growth, including access to conferences, workshops, or online learning platforms.

Additional Details:

  • Location: Fully remote, with working hours aligned to Gulf Standard Time
  • Job Type: Contract - Monday to Thursday, 30 hours per week
  • Studio: Classy Games Studios
  • Compensation: Based on experience, with potential equity options
