Listen, we know our limitations. We don’t know what’s best for starting a company based in the US and Australia, but we hope you do! We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to help us get started. We will pick your brain a lot, trust you with our lives, and probably cry at some point, and we’re going to lean heavily on you to help us be successful in paying people on time and making sure we’re not being idiots with our revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for our international operations.
  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity.
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for our international entities.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
  • Provide strategic guidance on tax planning and compliance for international transactions.
  • Assist in setting up new international entities, including registering for tax purposes and establishing banking relationships.
  • Stay abreast of changes in international accounting standards, tax regulations, and payment methods.
  • Support senior management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of (doesn't matter, just know what you're talking about) years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with exposure to international operations.
  • Understanding of international tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different regions.
  • Experience with setting up international companies and navigating cross-border payment processes is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in [languages] may be advantageous, given our international operations.

Additional Details:

  • Location: Remote (US)
  • Job Type: Contract / Freelance
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience
