We are seeking a skilled and experienced game developer to create a unique and high-quality simulation game from scratch for publication on Steam. As the developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the game mechanics, graphics, and user interface.
You must have a deep understanding of game development principles and be proficient in programming languages such as C++ or Unity. Attention to detail and creativity are essential for this project.
 
Responsibilities:
- Develop a simulation game from scratch, including game mechanics, graphics, and user interface.
- Implement and test game features and functionality to ensure smooth gameplay and high performance.
- Create high-quality 3D models and assets for the game environment and attractions.
- Integrate multiplayer capabilities and seasonal updates into the game.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the game meets the desired vision and quality standards.
- Provide regular progress reports and milestone updates.
- Offer post-launch support, including weekly bug fixes and monthly content updates for at least 4 months post-launch.
 
Skills:
- Proficient in Unity and C# (experience with C++ is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of game development principles, especially in simulation games.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Creativity in designing engaging and dynamic game mechanics.
- Experience with multiplayer game development.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Project Phases and Timeline:
Pre-Production (1 month):
- Project planning and documentation: Develop financial systems, leveling systems, visitor dynamics, happiness systems, attraction boosts, and marketing/event systems.
- Initial asset creation and prototyping: Create basic assets and a prototype to test fundamental mechanics.
 
Core Development (2 months):
Month 1: Core Gameplay Mechanics and Systems
- Implement core gameplay mechanics (visitor dynamics, financial systems, leveling system).
- Develop initial attractions and facilities
Month 2: User Interface, Experience, and Asset Development
- Design and implement UI elements (menus, HUD, notifications).
- Create detailed models and assets for attractions, decorations, and infrastructure.
- Integrate dynamic weather and environmental effects.
 
Final Development and Testing (1 month):
Month 3: Final Development, Testing, and Launch Preparation
- Conduct comprehensive playtests to ensure all elements function as intended.
- Finalize features and ensure all systems are fully integrated.
- Prepare for launch on Steam.
 
Post-Launch Support (4 additional months):
Weekly Bug Fixes:
- Address and fix bugs to ensure smooth gameplay.
Monthly Content Updates:
- Implement new features, seasonal updates, and enhancements.
 
Deliverables:
- A fully functional and polished simulation game.
- High-quality 3D models and assets.
- Comprehensive game documentation.
- Regular progress reports and milestone updates.
 
Inspiration and Quality Benchmark:
The game should meet or exceed the visual and functional standards of other simulators games such as SuperMarket Simulator.
 
Compensation:
The person working on this role will be the sole developer on the project. Our budget is between $5,000 - $7,500 USD per month.
