Responsibilities
- Own and evolve platform-level systems in a shared Unreal codebase
- Diagnose and resolve complex, low-signal bugs (memory corruption, race conditions, non-repro issues)
- Identify and implement performance optimizations across CPU, memory, and IO
- Build and improve internal tooling (profilers, package management, automation)
- Support release management, stability, and live service updates
- Collaborate with gameplay, engine, and build teams
Required Experience
- 5+ years in AAA game development
- Proven experience shipping and maintaining live, persistent game services
- Strong C++ expertise in large, shared codebases, 10+ years with C++ in general
- Unreal Engine 4 or newer
- Console development experience (cert, performance, platform constraints)
- Experience with release pipelines and stability ownership
- Strong debugging capability in low-visibility scenarios
- Solid system design and architecture fundamentals
Preferred
- 10+ years in AAA game development
- Unreal Engine 3 experience
- Nintendo Switch (1 or 2) development
- Experience with crash aggregation tools such as Backtrace
- Experience with low-level graphics programming and rendering
- Familiarity with Unreal Game Sync, Horde, Gauntlet
- Experience with embedded scripting languages
- Interest in applying AI to development workflows
