At Pasimo, we want to make society more accessible for the Deaf and hard of hearing community through education. Pasimo builds an XR platform dedicated to teaching British Sign Language. We have secured our initial pilot, and are looking for a Founding Engineer/ Technical Lead to join us and help shape the development of our product.

As our initial hire, you will be responsible for the technical direction of our platform. With support of the founder, you will be empowered to make decisions and put your stamp on the platform. To begin with, your day-to-day will be shipping features to further the development and design of our MVP. You will play a key role in helping to grow and mentor the development team, working closely with the founder to shape our technical approach.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of Unity experience, launching business focused apps. Ideally, for XR devices, making use of hand-tracking.
• Comfortable in ambiguous, R&D-heavy challenges.
• Can design scalable, secure solutions within constraints.
• Ability to transform feedback from users into actionable next steps.
• UK-based, and willingness to learn British Sign Language.

Nice to haves:

• Knowledge of British Sign Language
• Knowledge of the Meta XR SDKs
• Passion about high-quality, accessible UX
• Previous experience working in an early-stage start-up
• This role will begin remotely, but we hope to open a physical office in the future. This space is likely to be in the North East of England.
