We’re Qloud Games, an Australian-based indie studio with team members hailing from around the globe. We’re developing Loftia and looking for a Marketing & Cinematics Artist to play a key role in showing millions of players their first look at the world of Loftia! This role will start as a short-term contract (3 months) with potential for extension / something more permanent down the line.

Loftia blends the creative and cozy elements of beloved titles like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, with the vastly social and online nature of MMOs. It’s our vision to provide a space for players to find their sense of belonging, and work together with the community to work toward a brighter and more hopeful future.

For more information about the project, please check out our successful Kickstarter campaign and our Steam page.

Qloud Games is an inclusive space that values diverse perspectives and lived experiences. We strongly encourage applications from all backgrounds, people living with a disability, those identifying as LGBTQIA+, and people from culturally diverse communities!

Responsibilities

As a Marketing & Cinematics Artist, you will work on a variety of different tasks across multiple avenues:

  • creation of in-game cinematics; and
  • assisting with production of game trailers; and
  • working with our art and marketing teams closely to piece together content for social media and other marketing content; and
  • (bonus) helping with graphic design for promotion of the game across our website, Steam, and other public media and platforms.

What You Bring

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine 4 or 5, especially the Sequencer Tool
  • Experience with video editing tools such as After Effects or DaVinci Resolve
  • A solid generalist 3D art foundation, particularly animation, lighting and set-dressing
    • Bonus: rigging, modeling, and texturing experience
  • Experience working with game capture pipelines and performance-friendly cinematic workflows

Creative & Collaboration Skills:

  • A strong tendency towards proactivity, with the ability to creatively problem-solve autonomously
  • Strong visual storytelling skills
  • Strong sense of visual acuity, and a deep intrinsic understanding of what constitutes high quality, polished and aesthetic assets
  • Bonus: A good sense of what performs well on social media and the ability to translate in-engine moments into content that feels fun, shareable, and on-trend

Role Details

  • Engagement type: Full-time
  • Contract type: 3-month contract to start, with potential for extension or transition to a more permanent arrangement down the line
  • Location: Fully-remote, but based in Sydney, Australia would be a huge bonus
  • Start date: Immediately or as soon as possible
  • Pay rate: Negotiable based on experience and location

How to Apply

Please send an email with your resume and, very importantly, a cover letter. We read cover letters closely, so within it, please convey a sense of what motivates you about the work that you do, and what interests you in working with us on Loftia!
