About the Role:

Team Agenda is looking for a creative and technically skilled Level Designer with a strong game design mindset to join our team. We are developing a 2D robbery action game in Unity, featuring seven main levels set in evolving environments. The ideal candidate will use their Unity expertise to design, build, test, and refine levels directly within the engine. You’ll take high-level concepts and transform them into detailed, engaging, and challenging gameplay scenarios.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build seven unique levels directly in Unity for a 2D action platformer.
  • Create dynamic environments that evolve throughout each mission.
  • Translate high-level gameplay and narrative concepts into engaging level layouts.
  • Collaborate with the game design team to ensure levels are consistent with the overall narrative and gameplay mechanics.
  • Develop creative and challenging scenarios based on broad concepts provided by the team. For example, designing a level where enemies are ghosts and creating fun, unique gameplay experiences around that idea.
  • Prototype, playtest, and iterate based on internal and player feedback to ensure a polished player experience.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Level Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in Unity.
  • Solid understanding of game design principles and mechanics.
  • Experience with 2D game design and experience with level design tools and software.
  • Ability to translate high-level concepts into detailed, practical gameplay scenarios.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable working with a small indie team.
  • Experience with version control (Git).
