Do you feel like the tools that make a game are more interesting than the game itself?
As our new Senior Unity Tools Developer, you’ll join our Core Tech team building and maintaining the shared tools and packages that power everything we make, from hands and cars to horses and beyond.
Your focus will be on making great internal tools: creating solid, well-documented packages, improving our testing and automation setup, and jumping in when Unity issues need debugging.
Here’s what your job looks like day to day
- Building and maintaining Unity tools like automation, localization, or game data (with great documentation and a strong “others will use this” mindset)
- Helping debug and troubleshoot issues in Unity (editor and runtime)
- Collaborating with other team members on new packages
- Improving the overall game development experience for everyone through better workflows, reliability, and clarity in our shared tools
Must-haves
- Proficiency in C# and a deep knowledge of Unity tooling, including its asset pipeline
- Experience shipping iOS and macOS apps with hands-on integration of Apple platform services such as GameKit and CloudKit, using Xcode and Swift
- Experience with performance optimization
- Strong fundamentals in software design (e.g. unit testing, integration testing, dependency injection, design patterns)
- A deep interest in tools development: you get more excited about building tooling and setting up efficient workflows than working directly on player-facing game features
- An investigative mindset: you’re curious, thorough, and enjoy getting to the bottom of tricky problems
- A genuine interest in sharing knowledge: you enjoy bringing people together, explaining how things work and helping them adopt tools
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with automated testing of Unity projects, including on-device testing
- Experience with graphics and shaders programming
- Interest in experimenting with and using AI tools (e.g. Claude Code) in your day-to-day

WHAT THE TRIBAND?
Triband is the award-winning studio behind the WHAT THE? comedy game series, which is played by millions worldwide. From our home in central Copenhagen, more than 50 wonderful humans are united by our mission to make everyone laugh. To do so, we focus on exploring comedy through gameplay. We like to break player expectations, use wonderful music, slick art, and create a quirky atmosphere. We experiment a lot, and it doesn’t always work out, but we always learn something.
We put people first and strive to create a safe and creative working environment. We believe that teams, not individuals, make games - and we believe diversity makes for better teams. For these reasons, we look for people who bring new perspectives and will challenge us and our way of doing things.

We take silly games seriously. Our mission basically is to make everyone laugh. At Triband, 60+ people from 20+ nationalities come together to create, collaborate and grow in an environment where the people behind our games matter just as much as the games themselves.
What we bring
- Ambitious, but also just a job. The majority of people work 9:30 - 17:30, but it's normal to flextime or shift it to for example fit your kids schedule.
- No crunch: People over deadlines. Crunch is bullshit and no one should do it.
- Hands-on, close to where it’s happening. You get to be part of shaping new projects and the studio.
- Central Copenhagen office. Our nice office is located right by the lakes, 5 minutes away from the train and Metro.
- Comedy first. Playable jokes, long horses, everything is golf, trippy frog kings, stretchy walrus and what not.
- Food too! Daily lunch at a local restaurant with vegetarian/vegan options + soft ice on Thursdays, and all the drinks you can manage.
- Paid parental leave. It’s encouraged and kids are, after all, what makes the world go round.
- It's a team effort. Working together with others is both a better process for the game and for the people.
