It's almost the holidays! This means we’re once again looking for an artist to create a digital holiday card that will be shared in our community, on social media, and in our newsletter. We'll often take elements of the illustration and use it as our social profile pic and cover image while pinning the full illustration to the top of our feed. Most importantly, your holiday card will be sent to the 1000+ indie game developers we've worked with over the years.
About the project:
What we’re looking for is a 16:9 illustrated pattern or scene that features our mascot Stripes, our brand colors, and holiday elements like gifts, snowflakes, ornaments, trees, or anything festive. Little nods to “work” or “the office” are optional. Subtle animations would be awesome, but are also optional.
We really want artists who feel inspired by our brand and want to bring their own style to the piece. Our guidelines are intentionally loose so you have lots of creative freedom. We really want to share your work with our community. Additionally, we ask that you include your signature or handle in the illustration so we can properly credit you. Of course, we'll link to your website or portfolio as well!
Important details:
We’re aware that < month is pretty short. We’ll do our part to respond to questions or requests for feedback quickly. That said, you must be comfortable with the limited timeframe.
About Stripes:
Stripes is a robot dog and our mascot at Work With Indies. While his main duties lie within our Discord server, such as keeping our community safe and entertained, he also helps us out by visually blessing us with his presence on our other platforms. We thought it would be cute to have him fetch and deliver the newspaper for us, complete with all of the available indie job classified ads– our email newsletters now come from Stripes.

Work With Indies is an indie-friendly, easy-to-use, and privacy-focused job board (with ~250k monthly page views) and an inclusive community (with 43,000 members) supporting careers working for and with indie developers. We're creating a safe and central place for 1. people to find cool jobs in indie games and 2. for indie studios to find talent specifically interested in indie games, away from the crowded AAA job sites.
We also host a community with channels and resources to help employees level up their applications and professional development, as well as assist employers in providing fun, fulfilling, and supportive careers in indie games.
While we’re still just getting started, we’ve already helped thousands of community members level up their applications, find and land their dream jobs, improve their hiring practices, and make a bunch of new friends along the way.
Our aspirations are not only to make it easier to find work in indie games but to help make indie games a better place to work.
We’ve been lucky to have some incredible jobs working at and partnering with some of the biggest brands in video games.
But we’ve never had more fun and been more fulfilled than when we were working with indie game developers.
Everyone in games should have that much fun.
Our hope is that Work With Indies will connect job seekers with the most rewarding, most inspirational, and most fun jobs they've ever had.
