Zovian Games is looking for a mid to senior level Anticheat Specialist to help design and implement integrity and abuse-prevention systems for our platform.

This contract focuses on building practical, privacy-respecting anticheat systems that prevent manipulation and abuse without invasive data collection. The work should result in modular, extensible systems that can evolve with the platform over time.

Expectations & Working Style

This role blends consultation and hands-on implementation. We’re looking for someone who can identify risks, recommend solutions, and then build the systems they propose.

Work is completed independently with regular touchpoints to maintain alignment with engineering and leadership. Clear communication around decisions, tradeoffs, and assumptions is expected as systems evolve.

This contract is best suited for someone comfortable operating with high trust, clear goals, and minimal micromanagement, while still collaborating closely to ensure integrity systems align with broader platform architecture.

Responsibilities

• Advise, design, and implement anticheat and integrity system architecture
• Identify abuse vectors including client-side manipulation, automation, exploitation, and network-level tampering
• Build mitigation strategies that balance effectiveness, scalability, and privacy
• Define trust, verification, and escalation models appropriate for the platform
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate integrity systems cleanly with backend and platform architecture
• Contribute to best practices around enforcement, transparency, and appeals
• Document and communicate risks, systems, assumptions, and tradeoffs clearly for future iteration

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with anticheat, abuse prevention, or integrity systems
• Strong understanding of client/server trust boundaries, exploitation and automation techniques, and detection vs prevention tradeoffs
• Systems-level thinking and architectural judgment
• Strong alignment with privacy-first, data-minimizing design principles
• Comfortable working independently with clear milestones and feedback
• Available for check-ins during Pacific Time (PT) working hours

Nice to Have

• Background in security engineering, fraud prevention, or trust & safety
• Experience working on early-stage systems
• Familiarity with privacy-conscious or compliance-aware architectures
• Experience designing integrity systems intended to support multiple services
• Consulting or audit-style engagement experience

We are able to work with contractors based in California, but you must operate as a registered business entity due to state-specific legal requirements.
