We are seeking a talented and experienced Game Design Mathematician to join our dynamic team!

About the Role

We are on the lookout for a Game Design Mathematician who is passionate, adaptable, and innovative. This role is perfect for someone who dreams of combining their love for gaming with their professional skills. As a Game Design Mathematician at our company, you will be instrumental in creating games that offer thrilling, engaging, and immersive experiences to a broad player base. Your creativity and expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of interactive gaming.

Responsibilities

• Design various aspects of game development including entertainment value, pacing, mathematical outcomes, gacha system in mobile games, and player communications.
• Work concurrently on multiple game development projects.
• Apply meticulous attention to detail in creating optimal designs, including math models, JSON control files, par sheets, and customer communication.
• Test mathematical outcomes for quality assurance and accuracy using tools like Excel and programming (e.g. Jupyter Notebook).
• Conduct field research and analysis to understand player profiles and develop innovative game features and products.
• Develop comprehensive design documentation for projects, including game concepts, in-game messages, marketing materials, game rules, and pay tables.
• Create initial and final math models, par sheets, and JSON control files for game engines.
• Provide detailed feedback on all games in development, focusing on mathematics, art, sound, messaging, pacing, and user interface.
• Collaborate in developing and adapting prototypes and simulators for game concept refinement and troubleshooting.
• Analyze marketplace data to identify future game mechanics and industry trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Game Design, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in mobile game design.
• Strong interest in mobile game design, including the gacha system.
• Proficiency in Unity or Unreal Game Engine.
• Expertise in Combinatorics, Probability Theory, and Statistics.
• Ability to create well-structured, maintainable programs in C++/C# or comparable languages.
• Excellent data analysis and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a creative and consensus-based environment.
• Effective communication skills with engineering, art, production, and business teams.
• Curiosity and keen interest in understanding player and customer preferences.

Additional Desired Skills/Experience

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead game design initiatives.
• Passion for playing various game genres and a solid background in mobile games.
• Experience releasing one or more game titles in a lead game designer role.
• Experience with AI generation tools (LLM, stable diffusion).
• Skills in graphic design, Python coding or video editing are a plus.
