Want to build a game around a mechanism that retains 60% of all sign ups for years?

What if most players also made purchases that often had to be reciprocated?

Well, that’s a small peek of what we’ve built and now we're looking for someone with an imagination to make it something new while also being slightly familiar. You'll also work with a very strong team and a founder that has two consumer product exits under his belt.

Game Systems Designer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Game Systems Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable systems that power our gifting, birthday, and recurring moments experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop game systems that enable seamless gifting experiences, birthday celebrations, and recurring moments within our platform.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
3. Implement and maintain complex game mechanics, event systems, and reward systems that enhance user engagement and retention.
4. Optimize system performance, ensuring smooth and efficient operation even during high-traffic periods.
5. Develop and maintain tools and pipelines for game content creation, deployment, and live operations.
6. Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and promote best practices in software engineering.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and techniques related to game systems and gifting experiences.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years in game design or a related role in the gaming industry.
• Strong understanding of game design principles, mechanics, and systems.
• Experience designing social and engagement-driven gameplay experiences.
• Proficient in design tools and documentation methods (e.g., flowcharts, wireframes).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Passion for creating delightful and engaging user experiences.
• Experience with game engines
• Proficient in data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and microservices architecture.
