Kluge Interactive is an immersive game studio building the future of human connection through immersive and enhanced experiences. We are best known for Synth Riders, one of the most popular VR rhythm games.

We are working on several other VR titles and making VR games for a UGC social platform for some of the world's most influential VR, music, and technology companies.

We are searching for a passionate junior-level designer to join us for a six-month engagement that could extend to a full-time position. During this time, you will be working with our services team to design games and support live service updates to our top-performing titles. 

The ideal addition to our team is a recent university graduate with a strong interest in technical content design for games, exposure to game mechanics and general game design theory, and experience using game engines. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit are a must for pitching creative ideas and working effectively within our cross-functional team.

You'll be supported by creative leadership and a team of multiple 3D artists. You will work closely with a cross-functional team that involves developers, game designers, sound designers, creative writers, and producers. 

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in level design. 
  • Experience with game design theory and mechanics. 
  • Understanding of game engines and ability to apply this knowledge. 
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and pitches.  

 

Desired Requirements

  • A graduate degree from a related field (Bachelor's or Master's level). 
  • Familiarity with data-driven design practice.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design and prototype engaging game levels. 
  • Use your theoretical and technical knowledge to optimize content and gameplay. 
  • Work alongside senior team members to implement game mechanics in level designs. 
  • Collaborate with art and development teams to ensure great performance and a cohesive aesthetic. 
  • Use data analytics to make informed design decisions. 
  • Pitch and document your creative and technical design ideas.  

 

You'll be part of a broader cross-functional team, and while there, you will work with other developers on our development team to help us create amazing games.
