Howdy! We’re getting ready to wrap up Big Hops we could use help finishing our world.

We’re a very small team, each wearing many hats, and we’re hoping to find someone similarly multi-faceted. The ideal candidate can both work in a 3D-modeling kit to make bespoke locations, props, and characters and also design and iterate on levels with in-house tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Model and texture environments, props, and characters.
  • Match existing art style and art production workflows.
  • Set up prefabs and collision for your art assets to pass off to the design team.
  • Design and set dress on levels using a mix of in-house tools and modeling software.
  • Pitch, concept, build environment and prop kits for new environments.
  • Collaborate with the design team to brainstorm or improve art-related design elements.

 

Requirements:

  • Proficient in 3D art pipeline- modeling, texturing, materials (we use Maya & Photoshop).
  • Familiarity with Unity editor and prefab / material / art workflows.
  • Great communication, collaboration skills.
  • Willing to learn new workflows, self-motivated, curious.

 

Nice To Have:

  • Love for frogs and or 3D platformers.
  • Preference for stylized game art (Wind Waker, Overland, TF2, etc).
  • Diverse interests, especially outside video games.

 

Some Important Info:

  • We are based in Austin, TX but this role is open to remote work.
  • This role is Full-Time (40 hrs / week), but is contract so doesn’t include salaried benefits.
  • Pay is biweekly and not hourly (so we can effectively include sick days and vacation time).

Hey, Chris here. I started Luckshot Games back in 2015 to make innovative, high quality games filled to the brim with character and charm. Our first release Sausage Sports Club, a physics game about floppy animals playing sports, came out in 2018 on Switch and Steam.

Now that we’ve got the game making part down, we’re building a sustainable process that puts people first.

Our next project is Big Hops, a froggy platformer about deep locomotion and emergent systems. It’s still needs some time in the oven, but stay tuned.
