We are looking to bring onboard an innovative Lead VR Designer with a knack for creating captivating user experiences. The ideal candidate will exhibit a balance of creativity and technical prowess, thriving in both autonomous and collaborative settings. Your insights and design expertise will be instrumental in bringing the magical universe of Hark to life.

As our Lead VR Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the narrative and visual aesthetics of Hark, contributing significantly to a project that innovatively bridges entertainment with positive impact.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of game levels, characters, and user interfaces, ensuring a harmonious blend with the narrative and therapeutic objectives of Hark.
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead VR Developer and Creative Director to ensure seamless integration of design and technical elements, creating an engaging and therapeutic user experience.
  • Exhibit a high level of autonomy in making design decisions, while also actively engaging with the team to align design elements with overall project objectives.
  • Support user testing initiatives in December, collecting and integrating user feedback to refine design elements.
  • Engage in regular communication with other key team members, contributing to a cohesive and effective project development process.
  • Takes initiative to constantly integrating novel AI-based tools into workflow 
  • Stays up to date and swiftly integrates new development processes 

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in VR design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create engaging and visually appealing game environments.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and ideas effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, adapting to the evolving needs of the project.
  • The ideal candidate will have an interest or experience in the therapeutic gaming sector and a passion for promoting mental well-being through interactive media.

 

Bonus Abilities:

  • Proficiency in 3D character modelling
  • Proficiency in 3D character animation

 

Additional Details:

  • Location: London, UK (Ideally in-person, Remote working within the UK is viable)
  • Contract Term: October 1 - January 1 (with potential for long-term engagement)
